Tutor & FRanchisee: Peter Hitchman

Peter is an experienced teacher having spent thirty five years teaching science in several Bristol schools. During all of this time he has developed his interest in photography and has moved from film to digital in order to keep abreast of his two sons who are also keen photographers.  in 2010 he moved away from the school classroom and has since used his teaching skills and knowledge of photography to run Going Digital courses in the beautiful locations of the companies West of England and South Wales region.
As a biologist he has a keen interest in Natural History and so many of his photographs reflect this with flowers and animals featuring heavily alongside natural landscapes.

In 2019 Peter took over the ownership of this franchise.

TUTOR: Helen rose

Helen is a former teacher of English, but having attended a Going Digital Course to Get Off Auto a few years ago and she has developed her own photography business specialising in wedding photography and also in family portrait shoots.  Helen is joining the team from 2021 and will be working mainly in the South Wales part of the region.

TUTOR: suzanne ryder

Suzanne runs a business consultancy as well as having a keen interest in photography especially that which involves wildlife and nature.  Suzanne has attended nunerous Going Digital courses all around the country and has a wide experience of topics.  With her help we look forward to increasing the variety of courses within the region when she joins us from the start of 2021 and over the years we plan on having courses at many of the regions major events including Badminton Horse Trials, Bristol Balloon Festival and many more.

TUTOR: alan Mersom

 With a lifelong love of photography Alan started to get on workshops a few years ago, learnt loads and found it all fascinating and eye opening.  He really enjoyed getting out and about more and tried all sorts of different photography techniques; studio portrait, time lapse, long exposure and even product photography.  He loves the technology side of photography, editing RAW files in Lightroom and Photoshop.  Overall this was more than a hobby as it was something he felt passionately about.  Alan will join the team in mid 2021 and will have a particular focus on the Somerset coastline for many of the courses which he runs.

TUTOR: karen walters

Karen has attended avariety of Going Digital courses including Explore Parts 1 & 2, Close-up and Macro and several involving animals, which is a link to her childhood as she tells me her first pet was a stick insect!  She has a real love of nature and will be developing and leading a number of photowalks in the region, especially in and around Wiltshire and North Somerset. Karen is also joining the team in mid 2021.
