Our day courses run from 10-4 and start with a Powerpoint presentation teaching camera composition skills for wildlife photography before heading off with our Keeper for the day into the enclosures to photograph British Wildlife. The British Wildlife Centre is a non-profit organisation set up to ensure the survival and protection of British wildlife and habitat. Our Going Digital wildlife photography courses here will enable you to get some fantastic photos of our usually shy native species up close - including entrance into the fox, red squirrel, otter, and Scottish wildcat enclosures* - as well as the opportunity to photograph badgers, owls, and a variety of other native species. We will be the only people on-site so no struggling to shoot over peoples heads, and all the animals are in large natural looking enclosures so with the help of the staff we will be able to photograph them at their best.
Tish will of course be on hand throughout the course to offer wildlife photography advice, hints and tips, and help with equipment. She will give you all information you need to take great wildlife photographs and help you to set your camera to shoot animals in action before you enter the enclosures, and there will be regular review of your photos. A very nice sandwich buffet lunch is included in the price so please do let us know if you have any special requirements.
Our Golden Light British Wildlife courses enable you to photograph the animals at the very best time of the day for perfect wildlife portraits! These days run from 2.15-8pm, and very nice sandwich buffet supper is included in the price so please do let us know if you have any special requirements.
One to One Wildlife Photography Days(when the BWC is open to the Public) are available at our usual special offer One to One price of £185 (for up to two attendees inclusive) - and the only additional cost is your usual public entrance charges (you will not be allowed access into closed enclosures). The BWC is well designed for photography so you will be able to take some lovely shots, and the Red Squirrels enclosure will be open for us to walk through!
VIP Wildlife Photography Experience Days are available at The British Wildlife Centre with private access to enclosures included for a whole afternoon! These bespoke days enable you to spend a longer time with the animals you wish to photograph. The days can consist of a full day starting in the classroom and attached nature reserve to practice skills in the morning followed by an afternoon when you will be the ONLY people at The British Wildlife Centre. You will be able to enter the enclosures with the foxes, otters, Scottish wild cats and red squirrels and have the opportunity to photograph all the animals with nobody else on-site - a truly magical experience! The cost for one person is £299 and for two £349.
* Welfare of the animals is paramount and may occasionaly mean entrance into one specific enclosure is not possible.
